Here comes… The Emerald Lass!

So a big change occurred today in the life of this blog- new name. Yes, the blog has been re-christened and is now “The Emerald Lass”. It was a somewhat tough decision to make as I’ve considered this for a while but it had to be done at some stage. The name may have changed but still the same Bonita with the same fashioned mind. 😉

Tots Glad It’s Friday … Oh and LFW is here!!!

I wore this outfit to work yesterday. I’m finally progressively yet unwillingly starting to accept that summer is over so I had to dig out this white/black woolen coat which I just love. The shirt is a Ralph Lauren shirt that I got a few years ago but rarely wear…why I’m not really sure. I paired it with this River Island white and black stripped skirt (again from years ago) and my current favourite shoes from Zara. I literally leave these shoes in my work drawer now as I’ve turned them to my go-to work shoes. I mean what’s there not to love about these tri-coloured beauty. The look was completed with pearl accessories. These, I believe should be staples in any woman’s wardrobe. I may not own the same ones as the queen but pearls just add that touch of class to an outfit.

We Are Your Friends…you’ll never be alone

Emerald lass, the Brits and verrueckte Italianerin

One of the best decisions I ever made was to spend a year abroad when I was in college (for you Brits, that means Uni not A-levels :-P) in Germany. I met some of the most amazing, vibrant people from across Europe and even as far as the Americas. We may have spent more time tasting Gluhwein in the Weihnachstmarkt’s than in the library, exchanged our Taschengeld for shopping bags in Kuh’damm than we really could afford and experienced many a night of sampling the most vibrant nightlife in Berlin, but we also did manage to learn more than our counterparts who stayed back in our home countries (or so we’d like to think).

Happy birthday to me! :-)

IMG_2121Guess whose day it is! No, not Cara Delevingne’s (well, it is actually but let’s stay focused here)…Mine! Yup! It’s my birthday and I’ve been getting so much love all over. I’m so grateful for another year and look forward to what God has in stock. I’ve been trying so hard not to get emotional but the love has been truly overwhelming and I’m sincerely grateful to everyone that’s made it special in one way or the other. But my day isn’t complete till I’ve shared it with my BFM fam. Hope you enjoy viewing some of the pictures from a photoshoot I had today. Continue reading Happy birthday to me! 🙂

Ignorance is bliss… Or is it?

Hi guys.

Hope you’re all having a nice weekend. So today’s post isn’t fashion-related but rather, wanted to share a story that I’ve been mulling over a lot lately.

I moved to London three years ago from Dublin where I’d spent my teenage years and early adult life. Dublin, for those who know it, is not a massively big city. I knew the city centre and certain areas like the back of my hand. Started driving in my late teens and I’ve never had to use a sat nav in Dublin, like I mean never. If I was going somewhere I wasn’t too familiar with, I would just ask my dad who knows the city very well and that’s problem solved.
