It’s my birthday!

I’m still perplexed by how the last 365 days has flown by so quickly. I almost feel dazed that it’s my birthday again as it feels like the last one was just a few months ago. More than anything though, is the feeling of gratitude. Simply just very grateful to be here celebrating life again. It’s going to be a busy day so this will be a very short post. But I wanted to thank you all who follow this blog for your continued support and love. The next year is going to be an exciting one in many ways and I hope you’ll stick around as we continue this journey together. It’ll be one of continued self discovery but also breaking new borders and unchartered paths. The road ahead doesn’t promise it’ll be easy but certainly will be worth it.

I’m off to celebrate the day with some of nearest and dearest.😀💃🏽🎉 Enjoy your weekend and I do promise to be back very shortly.

Lots of love,

The Emerald Lass.xoxo

The bright hues of Summer

Happy new month, folks!😘 I can’t believe we are in the latter half of the year already. Time to revisit those goals and smash them. 😎😉Here’s to wishing you all a more productive and fruitful rest of the year.

Heading off to an occasion soon and still no outfit? We are now in the thick of event season as summer officially kicked off. Today’s post is yet another ticket to standing out in a crowd for the right sartorial reasons. Separates have always been something I’m inclined to go for simply because they allow me more room for creativity than dresses do and really, you hardly run the risk of wearing the same outfit as anyone else. Whatever the occasion, refresh your wardrobe with some bright hues. This combination of a light pink classic shirt with a twist of tie back detail and white jacquard culottes is a recipe for understated elegance.  sumbo (34 of 56)-1Opted for a blush toned pair of shoes to complete the look. I love the monochromatic look I was able to achieve with the pink/white/blush combo. It allows each item to flourish individually and collectively. Sometimes less is indeed more.

Hope you like the look. Have a great week.

Love, Sumbonita.xoxo

What I wore last summer

We’ve all been there. Worn that beautiful occasion dress and perhaps it was even a hit on your Instagram feed. You’d love to wear it again but you’re just purely vain and don’t want to be seen to be repeating clothes worried it’s already gotten enough hype and now bordering on overkill? Wedding season is here and that only means one thing; you need outfits to stand out in! Continue reading What I wore last summer
