Like most people around this time of the year, I have now fully embraced the festive season. Hard not to when your social calendar is buzzing with evenings filled with mulled wine, minced pies and talks of who’s getting what for Christmas.
As a city girl living in London, I have one rule and one rule only when picking outfits in the week running up to Christmas: Does it work for AM to PM? Thigh high boots and barely legs might not bode well in the office setting. So for an outfit like this, for work, I would combine with opaque tights and flats or kitten heels. When the clock strikes home time, I would whip out my thigh highs, get rid of the tights and perhaps swap them for a fishnet pair and strut out of the office whipping my hair back and forth. (The latter part of that last sentence is optional, no pressure!:-P)
The cold weather calls for layers but gone are the days of layering with ugly thermals and jumpers. The modern girl who’s got her style together now knows you can layer up in style; keeping warm and well, looking hot!;-) This River Island slip dress is actually two-in-one so the lace long-sleeved top underneath comes with the slip dress. But you can of course style an outfit with two separates to achieve this look too. I’m going to be experimenting more with layering in posts in the not-so-distant-future so watch out for that. You already know the OTK boots are here to stay this season. They complete any outfit perfectly.
So this ladies, is my idea of an AM to PM this season. Let me know how you save time and outfits by styling your ensembles fit for from desk to potentially a dancefloor.
Love,
The Emerald Lass.xoxo
