If loving fashion is a crime…Hey guys… Happy Hump Day! 🙂 Killing two birds with one stone today. This post is a hybrid of one of the outfits from my Valentine’s day look book and a post to celebrate the first day of New York Fashion Week 2016. Yes, it’s that time of the year again as fashion week officially kicks off in the formidable city of New York. I really love this co-ord set from (yeah you guessed right)… River Island that I got last year. I’m obsessed with crop tops and although I rarely wear pencil skirts, I quite like the overall look. At the time I purchased this matching pair, it was a form of motivation for me. I found it around the time I was in the running for “UK’s Next Top Stylist”. I decided to buy the set that in the hope of winning, it would come in handy for my trip to the big Apple for NYFW2016. For those who are not familiar with what I’m talking about…I had entered a style competition run by Stylist Magazine and Ford Motors UK and one of the fantastic prizes was a trip to NYFW. Although I got through to the final 12, I didn’t win the competition. Nonetheless, New York is always a good idea and so is declaring one’s love for the city. After all, it’s Valentines’ season. 🙂 Talk about wearing one’s heart on one’s
sleeve body, the inscriptions on the set reads, “I Love New York”.Whether you’re dressing for day or night, this textured set is the key to a show-stopping look. Its simple figure-hugging fit lets its neutral tone take centre stage. Adding the right dosage of glam and grunge is this wine leather-look faux fur biker jacket, also from River Island. It appears to be sold out but you can find the black version here. Disappointing it may be that I will not be rocking these on the streets of New York but I look forward to catching up on all the fabulousness from this side of the pond. Enjoy the rest of your week, guys and remember… You can’t fall if you don’t climb. But there’s no joy in living your whole life on the ground.
