The “season of love” is upon us again! A week to Valentine’s and we all can hardly get away from the romance fever that appears to have gripped the universe. Cupid is busy at work sorting out hearts and gifts and what not, across the world. So I thought I’d get to work as well and play my part in world affairs.I’ve done a few looks which I’ll be sharing in the course of the week, to provide some ideas/inspiration for your perfect Valentine’s Day look.Today’s post is a candy (pastel) crush affair featuring this pink faux fur fitted blazer from River Island and a light pink fringed skirt, also from River Island (unfortunately both now sold out). Both are rich in texture with the faux fur and fringe.
With a few tweaking here and there, you can dress this look up or down. So whether you’re hanging out with the girls for brunch or spending the afternoon with le boo for lunch, a spot of shopping or catching a movie, there’s something to be taken away. The trick to this look lies in two words: sleek monochrome. Pastels have such sweet tones and keeping it monochromatic makes the overall result clean and sleek. Next time I wear this outfit again, I’m going to seal the deal with barely there nude sandals but this time, I opted for black boots for weather-appropriateness and to add a bit of “drama” to the clean look. Talking about these boots, I had OTK (over the knees) boots in mind when I bought these. I’m not sure what got into me but I just went ahead and bought them, for whatever reason, assuming they were OTK. Not until they’d arrived did I realise the error of my ways. Lol. I then went through another phase of being too lazy to return them. The quality is great so it’s quite a shame but I’ll gladly pass them on to one of my sisters. Thankfully, I recently found a pair of OTK boots that I am now the proud owner of!Crushing on the fringe detailing on this skirt. Fringe is still quite “in” at the moment too and I love the playfulness of the skirt with the “candy floss” effect of the fringe.Have a great week, beauts.
